About Us

Come on in and feel at home

Lighthouse Tabernacle Church was established 20 years ago and now actively serves the cities of Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Brampton and surrounding areas. We believe in making Jesus the focus of our worship and all that we do.

We are a body of believers who are kingdom-minded, Jesus-centric, and people-oriented. Our leaders, led by Pastor McEachron, have availed themselves to serving the needs of our community.

Vision Statement

To see men and women, whose lives have been transformed by the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, become disciples of Christ and kingdom workers to build God’s kingdom, in every walk of life.

Mission Statement

The Lighthouse Tabernacle Church was established to advance and spread the gospel and teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ by:

  1. Making disciples
  2. Strengthening families
  3. Cultivating Christian fellowship
  4. Perfect godly worship
  5. Developing leaders
  6. Providing community support

The Church has adopted a Triple “E” Approach to strengthen its mission. They are:

  • Edify – Imparting the knowledge of God’s word, in a systematic way, to affect change

  • Equip – Preparing and furnishing members for ministry

  • Empower – Assign and entrust leaders with responsibilities for kingdom work

The Bible

The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant Word of God in the original writings, and has the absolute revelation of God’s will for the salvation of mankind. It is the supreme, divine and final authority for all Christian faith, life and conduct. It gives a true history of the creation of the heavens, the earth and humanity. It contains the correct prophecy of the ages to come regarding the heavens and the earth and the destiny of mankind.

(II Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 1 Thes. 2:13, Rev 20:11-15, Rev 21:1)

God

There is only one eternal God, the Creator of the heavens, the earth and all humanity who manifest himself to mankind as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

(John 1:1,14; 1Jn.5:20, John 4:24, Isa 9:6, Isa 44:6, Isa. 43:10-11, Duet 6:4, I Tim 3:16

The Lord Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the visible manifestation of the invisible God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. His death, burial and resurrection provide the ultimate sacrifice for sins and the only means of redemption for mankind.

(Col. 1:15-17; Jn.1:10; Isa.40:28, Matt. 1:23, John 1:1,14, 1 Tim. 3:16, John 14:7-11, Act 20:28, Matt 1:21, Luke 1:34-35; Isa. 9:6, John 8:24, John 14:6)

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God or the Spirit of Christ dwelling in the hearts and lives of the believers. The Holy Spirit convicts men of sin, regenerates the believing sinner and furnishes and empowers each believer for Godly living and service. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an experience for the believer and is evidenced by speaking with other tongues. The Holy Spirit must fill all believers daily; however, one of the greatest evidence of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling presence is a changed life.

(Acts 2:4; Ephesians 5:18-20, Acts 2:37-39, Acts 19:1-6, John 14:16-26, Rom 8:9, 2 Cor 3:17.)

Baptism

Baptism is for those who believe and is a sign of our identification with Christ Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. We believe in administering water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, according to all the examples of the early Church in the book of Acts. Water baptism is also a command in scripture and should be administered by immersion according to all examples set forth in Scriptures.

(Matt 28:19; Romans 6:3-4; Heb10:22, Acts 22:16, 1 Pet 3:21, Acts 2:38-39, Acts 10:47-48, Acts19:1-6, Acts 8:36-39).

Salvation

The shed blood, death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ provide the only way for the redemption and salvation of humanity. The basic Bible standard of full salvation, is repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives permission and living a righteous, godly and sober life according to the Bible.

(Act 4:10-12, Rom 10:9-13; Luke 24:47; Titus 3:5-7, Eph 2:8-9, Heb 9:12, Matt 26:28, Col 2:6-15, Act 2:38-42, Rom 6:3-6).

Sanctification

The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in a Spirit-filled life of separation from the world, and the perfecting of holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith. We believe that the believer should not partake in any sinful or immorality acts as defined by the Holy Scriptures. We believe that the believer should not abuse substances or partake in witchcraft or the occult.

(Titus 2:11-12, Heb. 12:14-16; Phil. 3:9; Col 3:1-17, Eph 4:22-32, 1 Pet 1:15-16, Heb 6:1, Rom 6: 1-23, I Thes 4:3-7).

Hell and Eternal Retribution

One who dies without accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour, dies without his sins being forgiven and is condemned forever to the Lake of Fire and has no further opportunity of repenting. Hell (The Lake of Fire) is a literal place and will last forever. Hell was specifically prepared for the Devil and his angels but because of the disobedience of man and mankind’s propensity to evil he will be judge and cast into hell if he obeys not the gospel of Christ.

(Heb. 9:27; Rev.19:20; 20:10-15, Matt 25:41, 2 Thes. 1:7-9, 2 Thes. 2:3-12).

Divine Healing

Healing comes through the prayer of faith, of the believer or a minister of the Gospel. When it is God’s will to heal He will heal immediately or through a process of time. He still desires to and does heal today. Healing was provided by the atonement of Jesus Christ and is the privilege for each believer.

(James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24; Isa. 53:5; Mark 16:18, Act 3:1-8, John 14:12-14, I Cor 12:9).

The Return of Jesus Christ

We believe in the personal, premillennial and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(1 Thes 4:16-17, Matt 24:30-42, Rev 1:7, Act 1:11, Matt 24:31-46)

Future Events

There will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead; of the believer to everlasting life and of the unbeliever to everlasting damnation and conscious punishment in Lake of Fire.

(Dan 12:2, Rev 20:4-6,10-15, 1 Thes 4:13-18, 1 Cor 15: 49-54, John 5:25-29, John 11:25-26).

The Church

The true Church is consists of a body of baptized and Spirit-filled believers who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, Lord and King. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the church and the Church belongs to Him. The Church is called the bride of Christ.

(Matt 16:18-19, Act 2:47, Acts 20:28, Eph 4:4-5, Eph 5:23, Col 1:18, 1 Cor 12:13,27,28; 1 Pet 2:9, Rev 21:2, 9, 23-27).

Lord’s Supper

The Lord Supper is a memorial service instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ. It is to be commemorated by believers only and is done in remembrance of the Lord Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection and imminent return. The unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine are symbolic of his flesh and blood.

(1 Cor 11:24-26, Luke 22:15-20, John 13:1-17).

Angels

We believe in the reality and ministry of angels for believers today.

(Psa 91:11-12, Exo 14:19, Exo 23:20, Act 5:20-21, Acts 27:23, Matt 18:10).

Demons

We believe in the reality of demons and fallen angels. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit are superior to all demonic activities and that all principalities and powers are subjected to the Lord Jesus Christ.

(Matt 8:16, Matt 28:18, Rom 13:1, Col 1:16-17, Matt 8:28-29, Eph 6:10-13, Phil 2:10-11, 1 John 4:4).

Our History

In February 2001, with just 15 members, Lighthouse Tabernacle Church began in Mississauga, Ontario. Service was then held at Erin Mills Senior School, 3546 South Common Court, for Sunday morning worship services, and the South Common Community Centre for Sunday nights and weeknight services.

In December 2002, Lighthouse purchased a 2.3-acre property along Ninth Line in Oakville, Ontario. The property has been fully paid off, thanks to the faithful worshippers, and will be used as a multi-faceted worship centre. The centre will serve residents of Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Brampton, and all other surrounding areas.

The church currently holds service at its semi-permanent location at 4060 Ridgeway Drive, Mississauga.

The name of our church has a special significance.

Lighthouse

A lighthouse stands in all types of weather; guiding those on the waters safely to shore. A child of God should stand as a beacon of light to guide people to Christ and rescue them from the awful ‘seas’ of sins.

Tabernacle

The word tabernacle originated with Moses when he prepared a tent as a place for God’s presence to dwell. Lighthouse Tabernacle consistently encourages its adherents to make the church and their hearts spiritual dwelling places for the presence of God.

Church

The Church is the body of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church. As members of Christ’s church the members of the body belong to Him; called out of darkness to show forth His praises in this world.
